Description

You can paint over the artex walls and ceilings with Eco Solutions X-Tex, you then scrape the artex off once it has softened. As a result of this process, the artex remains wet at all times and is known as a working wet system. This eliminates the risk of breathing in hazardous microfibers and prevents asbestos fibres from becoming airborne.

Most DCM-free paint strippers have just replaced one hazardous solvent with another, however, Eco Solutions innovative technology has removed the hazardous solvent content and replaced it with water, making it a safe alternative to use.If you wanted to, you could also sand the wood after you’ve stripped the paint. But, of course, this all depends on what you intend to do next. If you plan to repaint the wood, sanding is essential. Due to this, it can be great for use on decorative moulding and odd shapes where scraping would take a life time. DIY Doctor, in the interests of safety does not recommend sanding down or burning off paint from internal or external surfaces of a house unless you can be sure the paint does not contain lead. If this is the case, please see our project on preparing timber for painting where you will get full instructions on how to sand. Here is a product which is taking the market by storm. A user friendly, solvent free stripper which is guaranteed not to harm the surface you are stripping. Take great care when doing this as if the surface is wood or decorative then there is a good chance that if you are too heavy handed or use a course abrasive then you will damage it!

A technology-driven company, Eco Solutions has developed water-based paint strippers, coatings removers, and related products. The finished article speaks for itself and at a fraction of the cost in purchasing a new door. Home Strip was easy to apply, no fumes or skin burns to contend with which makes paint removal a far easier task. A very safe paint remover. The best way to apply is with a paintbrush and a wide one if used on large areas. Other people have used a roller in the past but don’t think you will get a good enough even application. Also, follow this link for more advice on removal – https://www.ecosolutions.co.uk/science-not-solvents-how-to-remove-artex-safely/ Customer Answer:The next day the plastic film was removed and pleased to say most of the paint came away with the film. There was some work involved in then removing the rest of the softened paint with both a scraper and a stainless steel scouring ball with soapy water. With over 40 years of paint removal experience, Eco Solutions specializes in water-based solutions. One tub should do about 12 square metres. Don’t spread too thin or you’ll have to re-coat. Don’t try and do 12 sqm in one go, do a few metres at a time. Get yourself a wide scraper too. Customer Question: Yes, it would be fine for removing Artex from beams. X-Tex won’t damage the wooden surface. Depending on how old the beams are there is the possibility of them being covered in a dark stain also. X-Tex will also remove this. If you require any further assistance please call the technical helpline number on the label and they can advise. Customer Answer:
