The start was a little difficult to get into, you’re immediately introduced to a lot of names connected to one another and constantly having to remind yourself who is who. I enjoyed Marshall’s debut Friend Request back in 2018 and I have two of Marshall’s backlist titles to catch up on.

A couple of the stretchier points were the psychiatrist violating all kinds of privacy laws, and poor little Emma being sedated almost the whole time. My favorite part of the movie (and of MOST Lifetime movies I've seen) took place in the restaurant when she slapped Valerie/Cathy/Lisa the first time, and then again in that backward arm thrust on the OTHER side of her face when the cop was leading her out.

Laura Marshall weaves a web of lies in this book, all Liz’s friends lie to her and as you uncover all the lies along with Liz you are left realising that these are the friends you might not want in your life. Back in th None of them would guess in a million years what’s going on inside my head, eating away at me – chewing me up and spitting me out. We finish with a hymn to which I hardly bother to mouth along having let the vicar choose it, and a final prayer committing Andrew’s body, wherever it may be, to a God he had little belief in.The story flows in the past and present tense as, the exotic break away with the friends and new partners. Today is my husband’s funeral, but my grief has been stolen from me by what I’ve just found in the pocket of his shorts. A whodunnit in an exotic location with many red herrings, a glamorous cast, much drama and a clever, misleading plot.

They didn't waste any time with the plot, the action began very quickly and the movie kept a steady pace. I know an 8/10 is extremely high, but Lifetime really needs to do more movies like this with good actors, a good script, and characters that aren't complete morons. You are in for a twisty tale when you reach for this one – everyone is lying to Liz and trying to put all the pieces together will keep you deeply engrossed in this book. The weather is still unpleasantly oppressive, but inside the hall, the atmosphere is lighter now the worst bit is out of the way – or the worst bit for everybody else at least. A dark-haired young woman I don’t recognise sits in the final row, stifling tears, rummaging in her bag for a tissue.

The vicar’s voice echoes up to the rafters, sonorously reading out the eulogy I wrote, the eulogy I put my whole heart into.

They liaised on my behalf with the Landell Foundation, a charity that helps people whose loved ones have died overseas.I picked this book up at a book festival earlier this year and have just gotten around to reading it and what a great read it was. We all lived in London in our early twenties, and then one by one moved out to the same family-friendly commuter town of Haverbridge. I wasn’t even that surprised by the ‘shock twist’ as these particular characters were behaving in a way that made you instantly suspicious. As the book progresses It became clear that each one of the party had a secret which they are determined to hang onto and could provide a motive for murder and the more Liz digs the more comes to light culminating in a shocking climax.
