About this deal

The Runitude Running Phone Holder Vest is touted as the lightest vest running phone holder on the market. Thanks to its patented design and the use of breathable neoprene material, the vest weighs a mere 159 grams. This lightweight design ensures that the vest doesn’t add any unnecessary weight during your runs, allowing you to maintain your speed and endurance. No More Phone Bouncing For women, you need to not only make sure the length and torso circumference is correct, but also be sure to take bust size into account. The women’s-specific V aporAiressoffers two adjustment points for an easy fit, and our female testers were pleased with the overall fit. Organizational Features

The ideal running vest is not distracting while on a run. If you’re trying on running vests, add some weight to them (water, layers, etc) and run or bounce up and down to mimic running. See if you notice the running vest. If you do, it will probably distract you, or even worse, chafe while on a long run. The weather is rarely reliable in the UK, so if you don’t want the rain to write off your run you’re going to want a phone holder that’s waterproof and has a decent zip seal.

Unlike a lot of the other phone holders on this list, the Freetrain V1 vest positions your phone against your chest in a pouch. With reflective details all over the vest, it’s one of the best at helping you stay seen when running in low light. The most common phone holder for running is the phone armband. It’s also the most affordable, lightweight and, arguably, the most convenient. Most of these fasten round the upper arm with velcro and are big enough to hold your phone, but not much else.

We do wish that the light thread also illuminated a bit on the front of the vest, as it is also important to be noticed by oncoming traffic — but bright reflective strips on the shoulder straps provide adequate visibility. You also want to consider whether you want room to carry any extras on the run with you, such as a lip balm, credit card, or house keys. If you do, you might need a little more space. The Freetrain V1 Vest holds a cell phone, but is not big enough for a case. I didn’t love the idea of running without my case, especially when the phone is in the front of my vest, and was worried the phone might bounce around, or get damaged as I got it in and out. That said, I had no such issues, and my phone stayed securely in the pouch even on several long runs of around 10 miles. The Freetrain V1 Vest has a zipper on the side for keys or a gel, but aside from that, there are no additional storage options. The Nathan water bottle is great if you’re a runner looking to carry your phone and water. It’s over 100 degrees in the summer months where I live, and I carry hydration on every run, so I was seriously impressed by this all-in-one holder. If you’re in the mountains, are there any opportunities to fill up water from natural sources? Just make sure to bring a water filter or some way to treat water if so. Sizing It’s important that whatever vest you go with fits well and doesn’t bounce up and down while you run; (photo/Ilana Newman)It also has one of the lowest profiles of phone holders on test, and while out running, I barely even noticed it.
